Robert Dykes
Chief Executive Officer
Robert is Tora's Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Tora, Robert spent eleven years in the software industry covering all major geographic regions – Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Robert has held executive management positions in several start-up and early stage software companies including WebPartner, a software provider of corporate testing applications, and AudioSoft, a software services company providing online music licensing solutions, which was sold to Macrovision Corporation (NASDAQ: MVSN). Robert started his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP working in various positions in audit, consulting and mergers & acquisitions groups. Robert holds a B.A. in Economics with an emphasis in Mathematics from Princeton University.
J. Keith Ducker
Chief Investment Officer
Keith is Tora's Chief Investment Officer. Prior to Tora, Keith spent five years at Goldman Sachs as a sales trader where, in addition to his sales trading responsibilities, Keith was instrumental in the initial deployment of Goldman's RediPlus trading front end for U.S. clients. Prior to Goldman, Keith began his career at Odyssey Ventures, a technology focused research and investment firm in San Francisco. Keith holds a B.A. in Biology from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from The Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
Ian Lombard
Chief Operating Officer
Ian joined Tora in 2005 as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Tora, Ian led the global technology products business at Kensington, a developer of computer products. Under Ian's management, Kensington's technology business grew annual revenue from $19 million to more than $110 million in just three years. Ian began his career at Xaos Tools, a developer of graphics software programs, where he held various roles in sales, marketing and product development. Ian holds a B.A. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Eric Sun
Chief Technology Officer
Eric is Tora's Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Tora, Eric was co-head of technology for Evolution Capital Management where he was responsible for managing connectivity, networking and system design. Before Evolution, Eric was a senior developer at Lehman Brothers in Japan where he built the METS system – the first multi-asset order management system utilized in-house and deployed to external Lehman Brothers clients. In aggregate, Eric has eighteen years of experience focused on trading technologies. Eric graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and holds a M.S. in Information Networking from Carnegie Mellon University.
Paul Catuna
Chief Financial Officer
Paul joined Tora in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer and is a key member of the executive management team. Prior to joining Tora, Paul spent six years as the Chief Financial Officer of WAGIC, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of consumer products. Before WAGIC, Paul was the senior financial officer of Intertop Corporation, a software company, and Isonics Corporation, a specialty materials company. Paul spent the first nine years of his career in public accounting, last serving as Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP. In total, Paul has over twenty years of financial management experience. Paul holds a B.S. in Business with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fresno and is a certified public accountant.
Richard D. Allen
Managing Director, Global Head of Sales
Rich joined Tora in 2006 and currently serves as Managing Director and Global Head of Sales. Prior to joining Tora, Rich spent eight years at Merrill Lynch, three of which were in Japan, as part of the program trading desk. In addition to his trading responsibilities, Rich spent two years working on internal and client-facing trading technology initiatives. Before Merrill Lynch, Rich gained trading experience in the Japanese markets at sell-side and buy-side institutions. On the sell-side, Rich worked at Bankers Trust in Tokyo on one of the proprietary trading desks and at Nomura Securities in Tokyo as a convertible bond and warrant market-maker. Rich's buy-side experience includes George Weiss Associates, where he was a trader focused on Japanese equities and equity derivatives, and Rosehill Capital Management, a Japan-only long/short fund. Rich is fluent in Japanese and graduated with honors from Union College with a B.A. in Political Science.
Rob Santos
Managing Director, Liquidity Services
Rob joined Tora in 2009 to establish the TORA Liquidity Services business and create a Los Angeles presence. Prior to joining Tora, Rob spent fourteen years in the financial services industry focused on the pan-Asia region. Most recently, Rob was head of Business Development and Investor Relations at a large buy-side firm trading Asia. Earlier, Rob spent nine years at Morgan Stanley Asia where he was Executive Director, heading Sales Trading and Program Trading in the Equities division based out of Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore. His responsibilities included management of six desks around the region, oversight of primary and secondary equity offerings and assisting the build out of the structured product and local access business for Korea, Taiwan, India and China. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Rob was an equity sales-trader at WI Carr Indosuez in Hong Kong. Rob holds an A.B. degree from Harvard University.
Chris D. Jenkins
Managing Director, Sales and Operations, Asia Pacific
Chris joined Tora in 2006 and currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Sales and Operations for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Tora, Chris worked in Hong Kong at SWIFT, a global banking network co-operative, where he managed the Asian FIX sales team. Before SWIFT, Chris worked for Macgregor, a U.S. based order management system (OMS) provider. At Macgregor, Chris worked in both professional services and sales roles in their London office, and later opened and led the Hong Kong office. Chris started his career as a stock broker at Midland Bank and then moved to AXA in the asset management group in London. In total, Chris has over ten years of experience in the financial software industry, five of which have been in Asia. In addition, Chris is the Co-Chairman of Education and Marketing for FIX Protocol Limited Asia Pacific, and has been instrumental in expanding the use of electronic trading throughout Asia. Chris graduated from Loughborough University with a B.A. in Politics and a Post Graduate Diploma in European Studies.
Gerrit van Wingerden
Managing Director, Japan
Gerrit joined Tora in 2006 and currently serves as Managing Director in Japan. Prior to joining Tora, Gerrit spent over ten years managing the development of high volume trading applications, analytical tools and systems for hedge fund traders. He served as CTO and Development Director for the technology arm of a large Asia-focused hedge fund and managed the technology team for Lehman Brothers' Japanese proprietary trading desk. Earlier, Gerrit was a member of the original Windows NT development team at Microsoft and served as the primary technical liaison between Microsoft's Asian development team and the core teams in Redmond, Washington. Gerrit holds a B.S. degree from Stanford University, and subsequently studied at Keio University.
Steven K. Denebeim
General Counsel
Steve joined Tora in 2010 as General Counsel to lead Tora's legal and compliance functions. Prior to Tora, Steve spent fourteen years in executive management and General Counsel positions for technology and financial services firms. Most recently, Steve was Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel for ClairMail, a provider of mobile banking software and systems. Steve previously served in legal and executive positions with investment banking, digital media, wireless communications and online market research companies. Steve spent the first eleven years of his career at Feldman, Waldman & Kline where he became Partner and Chairman of its Technology Law Department. Steve holds a B.A. from Stanford University and graduated cum laude with a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
